Andrew & Ellen Slaton

Full-Time Traveling Husband & Wife Photography Duo

7 Years ago, we sold or gave away everything but the essentials, loaded the rest in a travel trailer, and have been exploring the great wide open of our country full time. It’s been quite the adventure.

Our story began when we were neighbors in a historic apartment building in the heart of Dallas, right of off US-75. You could hear the roar of the highway in your bed at night — and neither of us minded one bit.

Some of you might remember when Amazon.com was a place to just order books and these things called CDs – that you had to wait for, sometimes over a week, to be delivered to your home.

Andrew and I met when I was outside talking to a neighbor, holding an obscure CD by a random artist and he walked up and recognized the band. Stars aligned, sparks flew.

We proceeded to leave mixed tapes on each other’s doorsteps for weeks, which eventually lead to a first date, which led to lots of tears and heartbreak and finally the decision to nurture our happily ever after.

Eleven years in our marriage, we’ve seen mountain tops with lush wildflower fields, and we’ve seen parched deserts - and there has been purpose and beauty in every season.

At The Slatons, we know that the wonder in every story, in every relationship, is because of the depth of layers. Your family, your love, is unique.

Why are pictures so important? At the end of the day, when all of the distractions boil away and we’re left with the essentials, we know what matters most: the people in our lives and being fully present in our time together.

And we can capture that for you in an artful and timeless way.
